Trips and Packing
I am Mama Mia a travel enthusiast. Used to be always packing a bag or two and travel for work exploring along. But now I go on road trips and pack accordingly. Our trips are mostly once a year and usually 3-4days maximum. We live in Pennsylvania, USA the Plateau roads are crazy like the roller coasters. Because we only have one driving person which makes it hard to drive too much at a time. Hoping to soon have another driver.
We are a family 3 Son, Dad and Mom so the most number of items on the list are for the younger member compared to the elders. I usually get carried away packing the bags for the trips coz these are the most exciting times when I'm out with my family. The most helpful tips I have got into following after watching the vlogs on YouTube related to travel is make ng a list first then start packing in cubes and pouches, mostly this packing remains the same for all the trips only I need to refill the quantities.
I start with laying out all the required items on the bed according to the possible conditions of the place. This is how I make the Pouches, for the child with 1.medicines, 2.moisturizing and bath essentials, 3.First Aid; Packing Cubes for clothing and shoes, and Entertainment essentials in A3 size transparent zipper pouches and folder pockets like a handheld video game, Ipad, motor activities with stationary, small toys, finally a laundary bag. All of this goes into his trolley hardside suitcase. As we all know need to be prepared for the worst for kids
Again I start for adults with laying the items on the bed and keep the quantity minimal to mix and match. Pouches for Medicines, Daily essential travel kit, Wet Wipes, Sprays, Excess disposable bags etc; Packing cubes for clothing and shoes, a laundary bag. A bag of food and cutlery easentials.
As mommy I'm the clumsy Traveller with everybody's luggage on my shoulders and back I use a Travelon Backpack(now the small backpack) which has everything what I need wallet, keys, earphones, mints, glasses, pens, notebooks, etc. I'm not a make up pwrson. Just regular lotion to go.
I stock up on the travel sized items for essentials regularly when get opportunity of finding the needed while on rush of regular errands when getting closer to the trip dates.
As the travel essentials are available in the stores inside the Rest Areas and Pavilions very easy to grab when need arises. The packing is never perfect just have to prioritize the need.
Finally, we head out in our Honda CR-Vcar with two hardside suitcases, one food bag, our water bottles, a crate of water with full fuel tank. Most important use an Ezpass dash button and keep it charged. We check in hotels at the reaching time to our place of stay.
I have tried various possible clothing packing methods but packing cubes work well for me and I fold or roll depending on the kind of clothing to be packed. It helps me fit in all our clothes and easy to segregate all three peoples necessary items handy. Using hardside trolley suitcases are very useful while travelling with comfort.
The items are only classified and not detailed here coz everyone has regular and different things to pack.
Travelling is awesome feeling, experieces, and enjoying find a new perspective to life.
